  • Virginia Sandlin, 89, of Mount Ida, AR passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at CHI St. Vincent, surrounded by her family. She was born July 3, 1929 in Norman, AR to the late Earnest Hamilton and Media Carter Hamilton. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rudell Sandlin of 51 years, one brother Joe Hamilton, sisters Vernadean Wright and Lela Mae Wright, one son Billy Sandlin and one grandson Stewart Sandlin.

    She is survived by her sons Jerry Sandlin, James Sandlin and Danis Sandlin (Brenda), brothers, Ralph Hamilton, Paul Hamilton, Dewayne Hamilton, sisters, Rosie Jackson, Mary Phillips, grandchildren, Michael Sandlin, Brandon Sandlin (Kandis), Derek Sandlin, Penny Fiorello (Trey), Kristy Gaston (Rayburn), great grandchildren, Allie Sandlin, Elizabeth Sandlin, Irwin Sandlin, Mattie Fiorello, Luke Fiorello, Taryn Gaston, Trynt Gaston and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

    Visitation will be at Thornton Funeral Home, Friday, December 28, 2018 6-8 pm. Services will be at Lone Valley Church, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2pm with Bro. Ralph Hamilton officiating and burial immediately following. Pallbearers will be Derek Sandlin, Brandon Sandlin, Michael Sandlin, Trynt Gaston, Luke Fiorello, Trey Fiorello, and Rayburn Gaston.
